How to decorate light switch covers.

Over time the light switches lose their color or become stained by use. I bring a tutorial to revive them and leave them even more beautiful than newly bought using the technique of decoupage.

• Materials:
• napkins for decoupage.
• white glue or decoupage glue.
• white acrylic paint.
• Brushes.
• clear lacquer or varnish.

Con el tiempo los switch de la luz pierden su color o se manchan por el uso. Les traigo un tutorial para revivirlos y dejarlos aun mas bellos que recién comprados usando la técnica del decoupage.

• pintura acríica blanca.
• pinceles.
• laca tranparente o barniz.

Comencemos por desmontar  con un desatornillador la caja, en mi caso es a presión pero hay switch que se deben remover completamente, esos también pueden renovarse con esta técnica, solo debes adaptar esta idea a tu necesidad!

lavaremos bien con jabón la pieza desmontada y si no es blanca la tendremos que pintar con acrílico blanco, aplicaremos 2 capas.

You must choose the decorated napkin and remove the two layers of paper you have and leave only the print. Once dry the two layers of acrylic, we will apply the white glue diluted to 50% in water.

la segunda capa se debe aplicar despues que la primera capa este completamente seca.

Se debe escoger la servilleta decorada y remover las dos capas de papel que tiene y dejar solo el estampado. Una ves seca las dos capas de acrílico, aplicaremos la cola blanca diluida al 50% en agua.

apply more white glue gently stretching wrinkles and carefully break the paper.

aplicamos mas cola blanca suavemente estirando arrugas y con cuidado de romper el papel.

with the damp napkin we removed the excess paper from the edges.

con la servilleta aun humeada retiramos los excesos de papel de las orillas.

and with the brush loaded with glue we remove the inner holes.

y con el pincel cargado de pegamento removemos los agujeros interiores.

Let dry all night and apply several layers of lacquer or varnish to protect the piece.

After painting the walls of my house I have placed the pieces and they look great!

Dejamos secar toda la noche y aplicamos varias capas de laca o barnis para proteger la pieza.

Después de pintar las paredes de mi casa he colocado las piezas y se ven geniales!
